Thu Thiem has similar ecology to Saigon River and the Southern East area of tropical monsoon climate with 2 seasons: Dry Season and Rainy Season. Despite of its adjacent location to the historic city by a sweep of Saigon River, Thu Thiem natural river is still wild. Its convenient roads, waterways and interlaced canals accommodate Thu Thiem to develop agriculture and living activities in close connection with the river. |

The establishment of Thu Thiem Investment and Construction Authority

On 1st January 2001, People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued a decision to establish Thu Thiem Investment and Construction Authority (Thu Thiem ICA) in order to conduct the investment and construction management of Thu Thiem New Urban Area as planned, regulated and legislated. |

The Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee promulgated the Decision No 103/2001/QD-UB dated November 1st, 2001 to establish the Investment & Construction Authority for the Thu Thiem new urban area ( the Thu Thiem ICA), to implement the task of state management and investment following state regulations.

On Feb. 22, People’s Committee of HCMC has issued the decision to form the Thu Thiem Investment and Construction Authority by restructuring and converting the Thu Thiem Residential Areas Construction Authority to Thu Thiem Investment and Construction Authority, which is under the Thu Thiem ICA.
