Thu Thiem New Urban Area gets US$1.2-billion software project

On June 16, HCM City Chairman Le Hoang Quan granted a Vietnamese-Taiwanese joint venture the license to build a software park in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area. Standing Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee Nguyen Van Dua attended the ceremony. |

On February 4, HCM City Chairman Le Hoang Quan handed over the license of the Vietnam – Japan Brain Park (Vija Brain Park) project to Vija Powersource Corp., the first information technology project in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area in District 2. |

First girder of Thu Thiem Bridge to be set up!

The first concrete mass has just been poured down to cast the girder of Thu Thiem Bridge (photo taken at 12 o’clock, 10 July 2006 by TTD).
At 12 o’clock, 10 July 2006, construction unit of Thu Thiem Bridge, Hochiminh City launched assembling the first girder of the bridge in District 2, after more than 10 months of execution.

Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway

This 55km long expressway crosses HCMC and Dong Nai Province. In Dist .2, the expressway runs through An Phu Ward, and through 3 wards of Phu Huu, Long Phuoc and Long Truong in Dist. 9. In Dong Nai Province, the expressway crosses 4 districts, namely Long Thanh (Cam Duong Commune, Tam An Commune, Long Thanh Town, Long An, Suoi Trau and Binh Son Commune); Nhon Trach (Phuoc Tien Commune); Cam My (Xuan Que and Song Nhan Commune); Thong Nhat (Xuan Thanh Commune). |

It can be said that Thu Thiem New Urban Area designed by Sasaki is a completed project from infrastructure to superstructure. Its profession, techniques and feasibility is rather high. However, with a view of a real-estate investor, I believe that in order to solve the infrastructural overload and for 50-60% of inner inhabitants to “evaporate”, it’s Thu Duc District to be a great land if it is built as an “Eastern Town of Saigon” adjoining to the former city like Eastern Town – Shanghai. |
