On 17/3/2008, the Investment and Construction Authority for the Thu Thiem New Urban Area is starting The International Design Competition for Thu Thiem New Urban Area: Central Plaza, Crescent Park, and Saigon River Pedestrian Bridge. This is an open, two-stage Competition for qualified professional architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, planning, and engineering firms or teams. |

Oct. 1, 2007, a ceremony was held at the headquarter of Thu Thiem ICA to mark the signing of the Contract on 1/500 detailed plan formulation and basic design of key technical infrastructure for Thu Thiem New Urban Area and the Contract on Consultancy Study on the formulation of design frameworks and the organization of the international competition for conceptual architectural design guidelines for the Central Plaza-Waterpront Park-Pedestrian Bridge |

Sept. 7, 2007, Minister of Construction Nguyen Hong Quan and Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan have hosted a working section with the Thu Thiem ICA, competent departments-agencies and People’s Committee of Dist. 2 to discuss the implementation progress of the Thu Thiem New Urban Area project.

Resettlement houses handed over in Thanh My Loi Residential Area, Thanh My Loi Ward, Dist. 2

On August 17, 2007, People’s Committee of Dist. 2 collaborated with Thu Thiem ICA to host the Ceremony to hand over 21 resettlement houses in Thanh My Loi Residential Area, Dist. 2 to households impacted by the land clearance of Thu Thiem New Urban Area project. Presented at the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Dua - Deputy Permanent Secretary of the People’s Council and Mr. Le Hoang Quan – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hochiminh City |

Seminar of consulting on formulating investment plan to develop Thu Thiem new urban area

To invite experienced local and international consultants in the fields of financial investment and urban development to contribute their opinions and clarify contents and complete draft platform of “Study on development investment plan to Thu Thiem New Urban Area” formulated by Institute of Economic Research, so that it can be a fundament for next step to select professional consultant for this study.
